Updating the ArcView Project


 

The ArcView project for each region can be updated as follows:

1.       Backup the ArcView project file

2.       Ensure that the ArcView project file you wish to update is not read-only (by viewing its Properties using Windows Explorer)

3.       Change the ArcView linkages in the back-end database (see Updating Linkages between ArcView and Access)

4.       Open the front-end database file C:\Program Files\CRIS\CRIS.mdb

5.       Select the database for the region you wish to update

6.       From the CRIS Main Menu, click on the Run ArcView menu choice

7.       From the ArcView Project window, select the menu choice File | CRIS Refresh to update the linkages defined in Access

8.       From within ArcView, make any changes to the ArcView project

9.       When completed, click on the ArcView Project window, then select the menu choice File | CRIS Refresh again

10.   To save the results, select File | Save As to save the file.

11.   Set the Properties of the project file back to read-only.
